It might be worth putting a note on the front page about the large initial download size for those with slow, capped or traffic-shaped internet connections. Connecting multiple machines all at once (like I did) came as a bit of suprise when I looked at my router bandwidth logs.

The big zlib file is 50-67MB depending on app version IIRC - That's about the biggest initial download out there in BOINC-land :) Only one of the WCG sub projects is that size, and the next biggest is probably the 35MB Primegrid one (and they do put a warning in the sub-project selection screen).

    Just a thought :)

Thank you for you suggestion Al, i will add a notice in one of the project links. The big zLib files (raw zlib streams) are the sequences used by the applications, but because it would take too long to calculate at once they are stored on the clients systems, and not removed when a task completes. It will get a message from the server when the file isn't needed anymore, this way we don't need to send the same file over and over (for the current sequences we will need to genereate more than 25.000.000 workunits, for each sequence).
